Balboa Park
My first visit to Balboa Park was super. The place is beautiful. Being a holiday, many places were closed, so I definitely need to go back sometime.
Mormon Battalion
For President's Day, we went to San Diego to play for the day. We went to the memorial center for the Mormon Battalion, where we learned lots and had fun. What a great place that is!
We also went to Mission Bay and played on kayaks, paddle boats, and stand-up paddle boards.

Abalone Cove
In January, we went to Abalone Cove in Portuguese Bend near Palos Verdes. We went with a family from our neighborhood, the Yotsov family.
We saw some Brittle Star . . .
some interesting rock formations . . .

We saw some Brittle Star . . .
with goo oozed out from under the layers . . .
and we saw pretty girls . . .
and were reminded of the wonder and majesty of the sea.

Pre-Season Swim Meets
Wes just started his pre-season meets. He is such a great swimmer. He is swimming Varsity this year. He is mainly swimming the 4x100 freestyle relay and the 100 breastroke. I love going to swim meets. It takes me back to my swim team days. It's crazy to see my son swimming for my old high school. It's so much fun, plus, I actually understand and know the events.
San Diego Temple
"I love to see the temple, I'll go inside some day. I'll covenant with the Father, I'll promise to obey."
We had a little weekend getaway for President's DAy weekend. Went to San Diego and stopped to show the kids the San Diego temple. It's so beautiful! I feel the spirit just walking around and being on the grounds.

Picking up Carina
One of the highlights of my day every day is picking up Carina from school and getting a big hug from my sweet girl.
Rio San Gabriel Open House
Carina and Willie at her open house. That's her rocket up above. She had fun showing us everything she's been working on.
Willie had fun checking out his old elementary school and showing Carina his 4th and 5th grade classrooms.
(Note from Quad to Rude and Mad: the Jam Ball basketball standards are still there!)

Carina's Flower Tree
The tree is on the wall. Carina's Christmas present from mom and dad is now complete. I love it, but most importantly, Carina loves it.
