8th Grade Promotion

8th Grade Friends

 

 

 

Maddie made many friends this year. I know she was nervous about being the new kid again, but she is so friendly and outgoing that in the first week of school, she had several friends. She has a super fun personality and a contagious laugh.

8th Grade Honors Night

 

 

 

Maddie was given the honor of speaking at awards night. This past year she was CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Federation) President. She is such a natural in front of an audience. It's amazing to see our little girl growing up. She is a great role model to her peers, an amazing scholar, and a wonderful daughter. We love you Maddie!

3rd Grade Spelling Bee

 

 

Carina was in the spelling bee this past year. She was so excited to be participating. She unfortunately mispelled "business" and came in 7th place out of 15 third graders. Aunt Gabby and Uncle Sam were in town and got to be there. It was so special! Great job Carina!

Band Spring concert

 

 

 
Maddie and Zach both participated in East's Spring concert. It was held at the Downey Theater. It was so neat to have two kids in band this year. Maddie and Zach are both so talented and enjoy all forms of music. (I know the lighting is awful, but at least we have some pictures.)

California Science Center

 

 

 

Carina's class had a super fun field trip this year. I always look forward to being a chaperone for the kids class. Carina class went to the California science center. The tidepools and the space center among the favorite exhibits. Carina made some nice friends this year and had a super cool (boy) teacher. He was a total hippie/surpfer dude and played the guitar every day. She learned some fun songs too. It was a great 3rd grade year for Carina. She especially excels in reading, writing, and art.

Santa Anita 5k

Maddie and Willie entered the Santa Anita 5k this year. They had a blast and it was a great daddy-daughter date. They didn't do too badly on the race either.

Easter with the Gagliardi Family

 

 

 

 This year our kids had two Easter egg hunts. We had one at home with grandma, grandpa, and cousins, and then on EAster we had a small one with Gavin and Renzo. We also celebrated Maddie's birthday on sat and sun, so that all the cousins could be part of it. We taught Gavin and Renzo a little lesson on the resurrection where every plastic easter egg contains a different object pertaining to the days leading to the resurrection. The last egg is empty symbolizing the empty tomb. We are grateful to be with family during these special sacred holidays.

A Visit with our Arizona Friends

 Our friends the Days came to visit. We love having them and spending time catching up. We ent to Portos(amazing bakery in town), this awesome park in Cerritos, out to dinner, and hung out. It's nice to see that even though the kids live far apart from each other, they can still play so well when they see each other, even though it's only once a year.

Charlie the gecko

Charlie is home again.  After a delightful stay at our good friends' home, he had returned.

While he was away, Charlie expanded his tastes from fruit goo food to a live meal.  Can you guess what he ate?  Do you think he liked it?

I forgot to move my car out of the road before leaving for Boise.
