Easter and General Conference

Saturday before Easter was a busy day. We celebrated Easter on that day because it was a day everyone could make it. It was a super fun day. We had an Easter Egg Hunt in Grandma's backyard. The kids loved it. Especially Garrett. He is such a cutie! Robin even liked it, although she prefers milk over anything. The boys quietly worked on legos and listened to conference. Everyone was happy and got along. It was a fun day with cousins. It's always so neat to see the cousins together. I especially love to see my big kids helping out and playing with the babies.

Playing Video Games Helps Kids get Better Grades

Yes, that's right. That was the boys hypothesis for their Science Project. They wanted to prove that playing video games actually improve their grades. We read many articles, they played games and took tests before and after playing Mario Karts, they conducted a survey to ask for parents and kids opinions on the subject and they put together a fabulous project. They got an "A" and presented their findings orally to the class and to the rest of the 4th and fifth graders. There was no contest though. Here they just do it as an assignment. Darn! I think they would have done well. They had a great time with this of course, because they actuually got to play video games as homework. They learned lots and worked hard. And guess what? I'm glad it's over.

Spring Break

We wanted to go somewhere warm and camping is the obvious cheap and adventurous thing to do . but where to go? The desert of course. I know what you're thinking. But they just moved from the desert. Believe me I thought the same thing. But we really had a BLAST! Rock climbing like crazy for two and one half days. We went to Joshua National Park. It is a rock climbers haven. There are such strange formations. The kids were crazy monkeys of course. They fell asleep very quickly on both nights. Everyone was pretty wiped out at the end of the day. Do you know how exhausting rock climbing is? Anyway, we had the best weather. It was about 70 or so and pretty chilly at night. We roasted marshmallows and had family home evening there. I think it was one the best FHE we've had. It was very simple. Everyone either quoted or talked about their favorite scripture and why it was their favorite and we all took turns. I really felt the spirit strong being around the campfire with my husband and my children. The spirit is always so strong when you are out in nature experienced Heavenly Father's creations.
Overall, it was a successful spring break.
When we got home, the good times continued with the Day Family who came to see us from Arizona.

Geological Tour Discovery

On our last morning we ate, broke camp, and took a driving geologic tour. Wesley (our future geologist) was our guide. (He read the pamplet as he salivated) We learned so much and stopped at this group of rocks (forgot the name) that were soooo cool! This was my favorite place. These rock had so many caverns and cavities like swiss cheese. It was so much fun to crawl through them. The kids jumped and were daredevils and I just bit my lip every time they tried something crazy. The boys are especially nuts! They are true Wilcoxes.

Yummy derby track!

Zach and i put this cake together for Blue and Gold this year. It was fun and so easy and the boys were crazy about it. We used three bread loaf pans to achieve height. Yum!

Sledding with cousins

We went to Big Bear again this year and it was awesome again! The kids and adults had a blast! There were many great wipeouts and the kids built igloos, forts, snowmen, and just had an amazing time. They sure slept well at night too. Playing in the snow is hard work!
